The Association of the Friends of the Finnish Institute at Athens was founded in 1986 to support the activities of the Finnish Institute at Athens and cultural exchange and co-operation between Finland and Greece. The association grants scholarships aimed at supporting research and organises excursions to Greece. In Finland the activities include lectures and presentations, excursions, and regular meetings.
The periodical Helikon is published biannually by the association.
