Théâtre Démodocos: Ancient Greek chorus – Chosen pieces from Homer to Sophocles

The Finnish Institute at Athens is hosting an event featuring ancient Greek drama, with Théâtre Démodocos performing selected pieces from their repertoire on May 26th at 7 pm.

Théâtre Démodocos is a theatre group established in 1995 by Professor of ancient Greek language Rouen Philippe Brunet at the Sorbonne University, Paris, and has performed widely in Europe. Démodocos performs ancient Greek drama with as close faithfulness to its ancient form as possible: language is mostly ancient Greek, musical instruments, hand-made masks and costumes as well as the composition of actors follows what we know about the Classical Greek drama.
